About The Billable Mom® Podcast

The Billable Mom® Podcast

The Billable Mom® Podcast is where professional ambition meets the realities of working motherhood.

Hosted by Cari B. Rincker, Esq., the podcast brings together candid conversations, practical strategies, and hard-earned perspective for working mothers, attorneys, business owners, and professionals carrying significant responsibilities both inside and outside the workplace.

This is not a podcast about doing everything perfectly. It does not promote hustle culture, unrealistic expectations, or a one-size-fits-all version of work-life balance. Instead, it explores how women can build successful careers while making thoughtful decisions about family, leadership, boundaries, well-being, and the lives they want to create.

Each episode is designed to leave listeners with something useful, whether that is a practical idea, a fresh perspective, a more sustainable way to approach a challenge, or the reassurance that they are not the only ones trying to make all the pieces fit.

Where Ambition, Motherhood, and the Law Are Allowed to Coexist

The Mission

The mission of The Billable Mom® Podcast is to create a thoughtful, supportive space for honest conversations about career, motherhood, leadership, and the many responsibilities professional women navigate every day.

The podcast has a particular connection to lawyer moms, who often face the pressures of demanding clients, court deadlines, billable-hour requirements, business development, leadership responsibilities, and unpredictable schedules—all while managing parenting, caregiving, household logistics, and the mental load of family life.

For many women in the legal profession, traditional ideas of success do not fully account for these competing responsibilities. Conversations about career advancement may overlook the realities of maternity leave, childcare, school schedules, professional visibility, partnership tracks, running a law practice, and the difficult choices that arise when work and family need attention at the same time.

Motherhood does not diminish ambition. For lawyer moms, it can bring deeper purpose, greater perspective, and a more meaningful definition of success, both in the profession and at home.” Cari B. Rincker, Esq.

The Billable Mom Podcast brings those realities into the conversation.

While the show speaks directly to mothers in law and other demanding professions, its message extends to working women across industries. Too many conversations about professional success overlook caregiving, emotional labor, family logistics, personal well-being, and the tradeoffs that often exist behind professional achievement.

Through practical discussions and meaningful personal stories, Cari and her guests explore how women can work more intentionally, establish healthier boundaries, strengthen their support systems, advocate for themselves, and define success in a way that reflects their own values and priorities.

The podcast also creates space for conversations about building more sustainable legal careers and workplaces—ones in which women do not have to hide the realities of motherhood to be viewed as committed, capable, or ambitious.

The goal is not to provide a perfect formula for balancing work and family. It is to offer perspective, community, practical tools, and honest encouragement that help lawyer moms and other working professionals make more informed and sustainable choices.
